Our board and its members

The NHS Surrey and Sussex Board is chaired by Ian Smith and meets regularly in public to make decisions about local health services.  Find out more on our meetings in public page where you can view papers and find out how to join the meetings as an observer.

Integrated Care Boards have several roles mandated by legislation: the Chair, Chief Executive, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer and Chief Finance Officer.  Our Board also has independent non-executive directors as well as partner members representing local authorities, NHS Trusts and Foundation Trusts, primary medical services and mental health.  You will find information about Executive leadership roles with explicit responsibility for population groups and functions at the bottom of this page.

Executive and Non-Executive Directors of the NHS Surrey and Sussex Board have been appointed through an open and competitive recruitment process in line with national guidelines.
