Healthier Together

Children's Community Health Services

Children and family health services provide integrated support that helps babies, children, young people, and their families stay healthy, develop well, and access specialist care when needed. They bring together professionals such as health visitors, school nurses, therapists, and paediatric teams to offer coordinated, easy‑to‑access care. 

Surrey

Children’s community health services in Surrey are delivered by Surrey Child and Family Health in Surrey.

Surrey Child and Family Health aims to make sure that all families in Surrey are supported from before children are born right through to age 19. They deliver health visiting, school nursing, and specialist services including school-age immunisations, children’s therapies, specialist nursing and developmental paediatrics.

The services are delivered through locally based Healthy Family Teams, made up of a range of healthcare professionals including health visitors, school nurses, and therapists. This integrated service ensures children, young people and families receive the best possible care.

Sussex

Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is the primary provider of community health services for children and families across West Sussex and Brighton & Hove, including health visiting, school nursing, and specialist nursing.

East Sussex services are provided by East Sussex School Health and Children’s Integrated Therapy Services.

Emotional health and wellbeing

Mindworks Surrey is the emotional wellbeing and mental health service for children and young people in Surrey. The way services are being delivered is being transformed under Mindworks Surrey which is an alliance of NHS and local and national voluntary sector organisations. The focus is on providing the support that children and young people want and need, where they want and need it, and in a way which best suits them.

24/7 Mental Health Crisis Line

If you are worried about yourself, a friend or your child your young person, call the 24/7 mental health crisis line free on 0800 915 4644.

You can talk with a trained call handler who will provide advice, support and signposting to a range of community services. The line is available for children and young people from the age of six living in Surrey.

Sussex
